As the Alumni Marketing Outreach Associate at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), I supported alumni engagement and fundraising efforts by conducting targeted outreach to alumni in key regions through personalized email campaigns, phone calls, and social media messaging. I used university-approved marketing tools to reconnect alumni with VCU’s mission and encourage participation in giving campaigns, events, and volunteer opportunities.
I also played a key role in planning and executing community outreach and networking events that showcased alumni impact and encouraged philanthropic support. These efforts helped build stronger alumni-donor pipelines and increased visibility for key university initiatives.
This role strengthened my experience in donor communications, event-based fundraising strategy, and cross-channel engagement — all within the context of a large public university advancement office.
